My story
New moons symbolize new beginnings and offer a fresh chance to tell your story. My roots are embedded in Sri Lankan soil; I come from a family of South Asian storytellers. However, a cultural bias toward producing generations of esteemed professionals, such as engineers and doctors, left me feeling at odds with my potential.
So, I studied Forensic Psychology and Contemporary Literature, not realizing initially how a background in psychology would sharpen my skills as a marketer. When my marketing journey began, I instinctively and analytically understood customer journeys and user experience in a way that allowed me to hit the ground running. I also appreciated how the compelling nature of a real and resonant story can anchor a brand into people's hearts and minds.
Defying the labels placed on me has enabled me to chart a course that allows me to hire other creators from diverse backgrounds. New Moon Marketing is my way of creating an inclusive environment that empowers talent who seek to pursue their passions every day.
